I believe this “Best Global Nomad Fest” recognition at the Nomad Retreats Award 2025 belongs to everyone who built this community together. My journey began with a small podcast, Nomad University, which led me to nomad communities around the world and a dream of inviting them to Japan.After meeting my co-founder Ryo in Bali in 2020, that dream became Colive Fukuoka. Colive Fukuoka started four years ago with Akina's dream to "I want to invite my digital nomad friends to Japan!" and a nationwide call to "make it happen." Back then, the city of Fukuoka was hardly known, but in just three years, it has grown into a city that attracts attention from many digital nomads. We are convinced that this achievement is not only due to the charm of Fukuoka City but, above all, to the warm community that all the participants have built together. Although it is still a new destination for digital nomads, we are all committed to continuing to provide Fukuoka's unique charm and experiences that no other city offers. We are truly looking forward to welcoming you all to Fukuoka again this October!

The Nomad Retreats Awards are entirely community-driven, with no judges or algorithmic selection involved. Instead, the winners are determined by votes cast directly by members of the global digital nomad community. In 2025, the results were based on nearly 700 votes, recognizing the festivals, retreats, experiences, and individuals that made a meaningful impact within the global nomad ecosystem.
